Connecting, Sharing, Networking: A Forum for Youth Activism

This workshop will provide a time and place for local youth to come together, share ideas, and identify ways that they can help create positive change in their schools and communities. We will use the International Day of Climate Action (taking place the following weekend on October 24th) as a starting point, discussing its significance and sharing information, ideas, and strategies regarding how we might get involved in our home communities. Using this as a model, it is hoped that this session will lead to a youth run regional network that will allow students from area schools to collaborate around local issues, sharing information and ideas and working on their own as ongoing agents of change.  

The session will be facilitated by Dan Flerlage, a teacher at the Lehman Alternative Community School in Ithaca, New York.
