DJ Laika

Taking her mark from the Russian space dog pioneer with the same name, Laika (real-world name: Sharinne Sukhnanand) brings her audiences on a journey with music that is always fresh and on the edge. Combining sounds from multiple electronic genres, such as techno, house, dub, and minimal, with acoustic elements from jazz and hip-hop, Laika creates dj sets that are well-adapted for the time and space, for either a chilled-out lounge or a banginí dance party. She has been featured as part of the Science Cabaret series at the Lost Dog Lounge and has played at numerous venues, including, Castaways, The Haunt, No Radio Records, Pixel Lounge, and most notably, at the 111 Minna Art Gallery in San Francisco. Laika also organizes and promotes Deep BeatZ, the highly acclaimed electronic music and arts event series in Ithaca, NY that features underground producers and djs.
